ABOUT LA CINOPELCA
La Cinopelca was founded by one of Europe's top dog trainers, Carlo Pelozzi. His clients inspired him to form the company, from their many questions of which collar would suit their dog the best, or which leash they should use for show, training, or just plain everyday pleasure. In his own words:
At first I was rather surprised, but this formed the basis of certain decisions, which in turn have become the philosophy behind my work to this day. I have always tried to transmit to my clients my experience and those who have followed La Cinopelca have noticed three basic characteristics in our products: the choice of the best raw materials, articles designed to fit the dog perfectly, and the handcrafted detail in our quality and production. Today, after many years of growing our company, I still oversee the details of each article and mind you, I have over six hundred and eighty articles now in production The best information comes directly from my clientele and it is with you that I share the success of La Cinopelca in Italy and abroad. We are happy to say that we are expanding: we have improved our workforce, our equipment, and our client services. There is one thing that we haven't improved upon, and that is the leather, which is always the same; the best English leather from the best English tannery. Carlo Pelozzi 500 Year Old Tanning Process
The English tannery, from which Mr Pelozzi gets his leather, uses a 500 year old natural process to ensure the beauty, durability, and resilience of the leather. Following are a few notes behind the making of La Cinopelca collars and leashes. The Leather The leather used to make La Cinopelca's collars and leashes is taken from the back of English cattle. The back is the best part due to its consistency and resistance to tears. The Tannery The tanning process is 100% natural. The leather is treated in a solution of natural "quebracho tannino" and takes 6 months to process. This technique gives the fibers of the leather resistance and makes the leather pliable. After this process, the leather is cut and then greased for three months in barrels to allow the grease to penetrate completely throughout the whole thickness of the leather. After two weeks of slow drying one obtains a fine quality leather, which is notably resistant, soft, and impermeable. Only after a very long seasoning period of 18 months, is the leather ready to be used for the production of La Cinopelca products. The natural shades in the leather and the suppleness of the collars and leashes are proof of the natural tanning process described above and that absolutely no chemicals have been used at any step of the way - unlike in the production of products of minor quality. The Model
Micro injuries to the trachea are the most common and serious problem caused by the improper use of a collar. La Cinopelca collars are made for various breeds and with the safety of the dog in mind. After much research, La Cinopelca decided to use spring-catches and rings in bronze, brass and manganese, which offer complete safety, especially in the case of training dogs. In addition, the majority of La Cinopelca collars are softly padded to ensure the utmost comfort and safety for your dog.
